Choose whether to share location
Open Information sharing → Share GPS and altitude to choose whether location may accompany your requests. You can inspect prepared values with Preview shared context before sending a question.
Approximate location
Allow approximate location is available only with GPS sharing enabled. When allowed, a suitable recent, lower-precision fix may be used and marked as approximate. This is not a location inferred from your accent, subscription, phone number or payment details.
When a question needs a location fix
The app tries to acquire location without holding up unrelated questions. If a location-dependent question reaches the AI without a usable fix, the app can show that it is collecting location, wait, then send the same question once with available location information. You can cancel this wait.
If sharing is off, the app explains that you do not share location rather than silently enabling it. If no acceptable fix arrives, it should explain the missing information rather than invent it.
For a better fix, move outdoors with a clear view of the sky. Coordinates can be inaccurate and do not guarantee a street address, weather report or safe navigation.
