Why altitude may be missing

A location fix and a valid altitude are separate pieces of information.

WristVoice AI is in private testing. These instructions describe the current test app. Public checkout and automatic activation remain subject to production verification.

Location and altitude are separate

Share GPS and altitude permits valid altitude to be sent with your question when available. It does not guarantee that each position fix contains an acceptable altitude.
Approximate or two-dimensional location can be useful for an approximate position while providing no valid altitude. The app should omit missing or invalid altitude rather than replace it with zero, an old value or a guess.
Wait, cancel or try later
If you ask for altitude and the app is still collecting it, move outdoors and allow acquisition to continue, or cancel and ask later. The automatic location follow-up is bounded; it is not an endless loop of requests.
Check the values and use appropriate instruments
Use Preview shared context to see what the app currently has prepared. An altitude shown elsewhere on the watch may come from a different sensor or calibration process and is not proof that the app’s current shared fix contains that value.
Do not rely on an AI altitude answer for climbing, aviation, navigation or other safety-critical decisions. Use appropriate instruments and Garmin’s guidance for your device.
