How server context works
Server mode uses an OpenAI conversation association rather than resending local reader history.

Continue with server context
With Server selected, the watch retains a conversation reference and the service checks its association with your access. OpenAI holds the conversation content used for follow-ups. A successful restart or reopening can continue the associated conversation while it remains valid.
The watch’s reader still shows only a bounded recent history. It is not a download of your entire server conversation. Server context is also not a connection to your ChatGPT account or its memory.
When context becomes unavailable
Context can become unavailable after reset, a relevant settings change, a service limit or an access problem. If a follow-up loses its subject, restate the key facts rather than assuming an unlimited permanent memory.
Privacy and reset
OpenAI’s processing and retention rules apply to server conversation content. Reset conversation stops future app requests from using the old association and clears local reader history. It does not delete the old conversation from OpenAI.
Choose Local only or disable context if server-held conversation continuity does not suit your preference. Neither option prevents OpenAI from processing the requests you send.
