Choose a context setting
Open Conversation → Conversation context. Turn it off for independent questions or enable it to make follow-ups possible. When enabled, choose Local only or Server under Context mode. The Usage page also shows context status and provides the corresponding controls.
Off, Local only and Server
Off: each question is independent. The current question and answer are not retained after the app closes. Ordinary settings and necessary access or usage records are separate from conversation history.
Local only: the watch keeps a bounded recent history and includes the active context window with later questions. “Local” describes where the history is retained between requests; that history still goes to the AI when used as context.
Server: the service uses a conversation reference linked to your watch, with conversation content held by OpenAI. The local reader still keeps only a bounded recent history. The watch does not resend that reader history as the server conversation.
Start fresh when changing modes
Changing mode starts a fresh conversation association. Reset conversation is the explicit way to clear recent local history and begin again. Context improves continuity but is not unlimited or guaranteed memory.
