Start recording automatically after opening the app
An optional launch setting reduces screen taps; it applies to ordinary launches too.

WristVoice AI is in private testing. These instructions describe the current test app. Public checkout and automatic activation remain subject to production verification.
Enable the private-test setting
Record on launch is off by default. Enable Settings → Record on launch, or its Connect IQ setting, only when you want a new app session to start recording automatically. With it off, tap the microphone or press START/Select when ready. START/Select operates the current primary action and may instead perform Retry or setup on other screens.
Assigning a watch shortcut
Assign WristVoice AI to a Garmin shortcut only if your watch model and firmware offer it as a target. Follow your exact model’s Garmin manual and do not replace an emergency shortcut. Physical shortcut assignment and the hands-free flow have not yet been verified on a real watch. A shortcut launches the app; Record on launch is what removes the extra recording tap. Release the shortcut buttons after launch. START/ENTER is ignored throughout the countdown and for one second after it completes. This is a time guard, not button-release detection; continuing to hold a repeating key after that guard could stop recording.
New sessions, checks and recording
One automatic recording is armed for each new app session, whether opened from the app list or a supported shortcut. The app cannot distinguish their origin. Returning from a menu or resuming after inactivity does not re-arm it. Hiding or inactivating the app cancels a pending automatic recording. Automatic recording requires successful service readiness checks, a service credential, an idle state, the main page and no open detail screen. A failed connection check cancels it. A readiness check confirms service availability at that moment.
After successful startup checks, a 1.5-second countdown begins. An optional start tone is followed by a 600 ms delay before microphone capture. When the cue is disabled or unavailable, that cue delay is skipped. Watch sound settings and Do Not Disturb apply. Speak only after Listening appears. Press BACK during the countdown to cancel before recording. BACK during capture discards the recording without sending it. Stop ends capture and sends the question. Automatic stop targets approximately ten seconds, subject to the audio-size limit. Cancellation after processing has reached the service cannot undo completed processing.
Disable Record on launch to browse without automatic capture, or where an accidental opening could capture nearby speech. Answers remain written text. This does not add spoken replies or an always-listening background assistant, and private-test implementation does not mean public production availability.
